Its an 18 gallon tank. If you are getting 160 miles, that's less than 9 mpg. That is extremely low. Is the bad gas mileage a one time calculation or is this consistent from tankful to tankful?
I am thinking you got a leak in your fuel tank or you got syphoned. (do kids still do that today, I did that in high school)
Many things to consider that will impact gas mileage.
What year is the car, how many miles are on it?
If it is new to you, then you may not know the anwers to the following guestion but it's a start for places to look.
1. Is the air filter dirty? when was it last changed.
2. Are you running the grade of oil required, ie 10W-30, when
was it last changed?
3. When was the last time the spark plugs were checked or
changed?
4. Is the trottle body clean?
5. Is the car running at the proper temperature?
6. Have you had the fuel rail and injectors cleaned, either by
adding a fuel additive or professionally by a garage?
7. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed?
8. The PCV valve if dirty will effect gas mileage. It is very cheap
to replace.
9. Are you tires properly inflated to the recommended PSI?
You failed to mention several points that may help:
How does the car run, accelerate and idle right now?

Thank you all for replying to the post and for providing useful advice. I recently bought the 92 es300 so i guess the problem lies in the tune up. I will change the spark plugs, pcv valve, and see how it goes from there. I'll give everyone an update once i'm done. Thanks again!!
