Default Car Will Not Idle. Need HELP!!

I have a 1997 es300,no modifications well taken care of. I woke up this morning and went to check the waves. And my car will not idle. It just turns over but once it starts for like a second it shuts off. It will run if I apply some gas. And it will drive but right when I take my foot off the gas the rpms drop to zero. This literally happened overnight. Yesterday I drove it to work and it was fine.

Sounds like you blew a coil pack. I am not sure whats involved with the ES but they are usually fairly easy. Did you get a check engine light?

Symptoms sound exactly like a bad/stuck idle air control valve. They become clogged with carbon, and can stick without warning. Its not hard to change. Its located under the throttle body. You can try to tap it lightly with a metal extension or screwdriver, it can sometimes help free it.
