Maybe dumb question on service advisors
I've never used dealer service departments much at all in the past. But we recently bought two used Lexus cars, an '02 GS300 and '06 LS430, and I'm thinking about letting the dealer handle the service work.
Ok, so the question: is it expected or normal that you will build a relationship with a specific service advisor, or do you just get whoever is "up"?
If the former, would it be reasonable for me to go to the dealership and describe the type of person I would like to work with? If so, who would I ask to speak to? The service manager? Or do the advisors have their own manager?

Advisors are managed by the service manager. It would probably be difficult to find someone to describe who you are looking to work with. Its pretty typical for clients to build a relationship with a specific service rep, but the best way to build that relationship is trial and error really. You can try to get on some local review sites, like yelp or similar, and find reviews of advisors people recommend. Work with someone, and if you dont like them, request a different person the next time you make an appointment.

Go to the parts counter to buy a pair of wiper blades. Ask the parts guys who's the best service advisor. The parts guys know who's who and what's what around a dealership. After you've been in a couple times and if you're happy with the service start bringing doughnuts for the service advisors crew when you come in for service. And of course use courtesy and respect, but I can tell from your post you've got no problems with that. You may not get deals, but your car will be serviced promptly and by the more experienced technicians.
