Default SC300 OBD1 Check Engine Issues

Hi everyone,

I did a search and found nothing to explain this. I have a check engine light on (1993 lexus sc300). I ran 2 cables in the diagnostic fuse box TE1 and E1 to check the codes. Problem is it just keeps flashing on dash. No specific flashing just a constant flash with no long pauses. I watched it for several minutes and it just flashes non stop(similar to a blinker flash). Any idea what the problem is (or is this in itself a code)? Thanks!

constant flash means that no codes are stored...

disconnect the battery to reset the light and continue driving, see if it comes back...

In case this comes up in searches for the future. The problem was a bad ECU. Sent it to a repair place. It still had a check engine code but it now flashes the correct codes.

What problems were you experiencing prior? On these cars OBD 1 constantly flashing is completely NORMAL.

Sorry for an old bump but I was always under the impression a constant flash is "system pass"
