Default Front, rear rotors and pads. 07 GS350

Need to do brakes on an 07 gs350 front and rear.
About 65k miles on the car. Might not need rotors but would rather replace then turn them.
So pads and rotors. What brands do most people use? Is there any problems with getting parts from an o'rileys (thermo quiet pads) or an autozone? Are they really cheap quality parts? Rotors come with 2 yr warranty. Do I need to get oem shims for the front?

Is the DIY for brakes on a is250 same as a gs350?
Haven't found anything on brake fluid, should I change that out to?
Any tips on the brake job?

DIY Brakes in general are the same, except on some hybrid models. Brakes are (typically) brakes. Your brake fluid is probably fine till well after 100,000 miles, unless it looks dirty or contaminated I wouldnt mess with it.

I use AutoZone rotors on alot of things, come to think of it, my Ram has a set of AutoZone (Duralast) rotors on it. Spend the extra and get the Duralast if you buy from AZ, they come with a lifetime warranty. I put a set of ValueCraft from AZ on the front of my truck and they were warped in 3 months. I took them back and exchanged for the duralast ($20 more or so) and haven't had a problem in over 20k miles.

As far as shims, your brake pads from AZ should come with new ones, I wouldnt use OEM shims with AZ pads, they dont always fit correctly. Whatever you decide to do, if you are going budget on brakes, stick with Autozone (DURALAST ONLY) For rotors and pads. Make sure you specify Duralast and not "Whatever is cheapest". That $20 rotor will be worthless, spend the $50 per rotor and get the Duralast, you wont regret it.

I think if you spend the money to purchase a luxury sport vehicle autozone should not be the reference point for parts.
In most cities there are independent foreign parts stores that supply OEM or greater specs.
Generally when people look for cheap $ they get what they pay for.
I would go based on manufacturer and find out what works best for your specific vehicle.
I'm sure there are other posts that drill down more to brand.

I prefer the centric rotors. I started to use them a few years back and they have been awesome. I only tried them out because of the anti-rust coating that they use one the usual rusting areas. Works really well and is holding up after 4 years.
