Quikc question on the Toyota/ Lexus service debate. Now that you can access the service records for Lexus on the Lexus website will Toyota have the ability to input notes, and service records that will show up in this database? If a service is a simple oil change and routine maintenence with Toyota but a recal or warranty work with Lexus do you think Lexus will give you any resistance because they have not serviced the car from day 1.

Interesting thing i learned the other week when calling about parts.

A shop i bought parts a while back is no longer able to quote anything Lexus [this is a franchise Toyota shop], if they order it for the equivalent Toyota model, you're stuck with it in the event it doesn't fit afterall.

I guess they're getting stricter now. I paid 6.50 bottle at lexus 'cheap price too', and ~5$ at Toyota, for the same fluid... WTF

thought i updated this by apparently im senile.

so i went to a different local toyota dealer and got it serviced there. talked to the asst manager over the phone and was more then happy. i was shocked at the price differences between toyota and lexus. i guess the few extra hundred covers your loaner and pays for the coffee/donuts in the lobby

Apex Toyota doesn't blink when I order parts for my Lexus through them. They replaced my coolant a month back without any hesitation and for half the price of the Lexus dealer.
