Default Cd button on stock head unit does nothing *searched*

I am educated when it comes to cars but sc's are specifically new to me. Is there a common problem with the cd button on the stock headunit not working. Ive read about lots of problems with the stock cd changer but mine will not attempt to change modes from fm to cd. Im removing the headunit to check for power at the button and then to the relay. Is there a fuse just for the cd button?

the cd button is attached to integrated circuitry, no relays are used in the normal sense of the word...

is there power to the cd changer itself? if not, then perhaps the fuse or wiring to that, but, if there is power, there is a good chance the changer itself is just dead...

there is power to the changer all the time, whether the button is selected or not, the button does nothing aside from tell the head unit to get its source music from the changer... not a lot unlike pressing the am/fm/cd button on a standard in dash cd player...

Well i figured it out. The cd player in the trunk didnt have power. Probably because it doesnt work with anything but original cds (no burned cds) and even then it only works about 20% of the time and skips 100% when you hit bumps. The worst part is the amount of work it takes to fix or replace them just so you can listen to cds. Who wants a headunit in a luxury car? It looks more out of place than oprah at a metallica concert.
