Exclamation Check Engine Light

I just quickly got a local delta sonic to check an engine code my 2001 lexus lx 470 was showing, they said it was a heater circuit or resister malfunction code. From what he told me, it has something with a sensor that is attached to the exhaust? Thats what he told me, i am not quite sure. My question is does anyone have an idea, from the vague information i've given (sorry, i have no mechanical knowledge) what it means? The car drives the same, close to the same gas mileage, and happened randomly, i had the car inspected sunday, no one drove it monday, and tuesday halfway through the day it came on. This morning i disconnected the batter, started the car and there was no code, after driving for about half an hour, the light turned on again. I am really clueless as to whats going on, any help would be appreciated.....thank you o and car has 136k miles if that helps

Oxygen sensor heater circuit...

O2 sensors only really work properly when they are the correct temperature. To ensure this on cold starts, the O2 sensor has a built in heater. This will really only affect cold start performance and fuel mileage - as soon as things are warmed up, then it doesn't do anything....

That being said, its the first sign of an O2 sensor dying... Your truck probably has 4 of them... It is a relatively cheap replacement... <$200 should be...

Nope, you just need to figure out which one it is that you need...

It kinda depends on which one it is... I don't think any are super easy to get to, but, the back two are probably accessible from underneath the vehicle, the front two are usually marginally harder to reach - they are either on or just after the exhaust manifolds... Aside from needing the proper wrench (its large), all you are most likely dealing with is unscrewing one, and one small wiring clip...
