No, not at all! It should be used more often in higher milege cars because of all the build up that can occur and clog the injectors over the yrs. You add it to your gas tank when your fueling up so I can't see how any leaks can occur. Usually every oil change is a good format to use.

i personally have been using red line SI 1 for years in both my bimmer and lexus, so far no problem at all. As for Cheveron Tech. okay for the money but REDLINE is what the professional been using them for years and works hand in hand with there engine oil, water wetter.

Be Careful
I have used Chevron Techron FI cleaner on all our cars every 30K miles. It's really great. I use the concentrated Techron cleaner, not the "with Techron" one.
My van has 292,000 miles and one by one the injectors - two of the four - began to leak.
I took them all out and, replaced the bad ones with new OEM ones, and had them all recalibrated by RC Engineering in Torrance for uniform volume.
After I got and installed them and ran them for a while, I decided to clean them again with the Techron. Since I'm a big fan of it, I doubled the dose and treated the FI with two tankfuls.
After a few days from finishing the two full tanks with the Techron cleaner, one of the older injectors leaked again.
I talked to Russ Collins over at RC and what he said shocked me. Too much of the cleaner will actually melt the glue in the injector causing it to leak. I'd like to believe this guy as he has been in the injector business for a very long time.
I remember, I have been giving the van double dosage of Techron for two tankfuls in a row even before the first injector leaked.
So be careful. Follow the dosage. Don't OD.

Techron is kind of a weak. Also, it is not the most expensive and never really helped IMO. I use LubroMoly fuel injector cleaner or their Venti Sauber. Also, Redline is okay and there is one more for injectors that are really clogged. Forgot the name but, they have a company out in Simi Valley, CA. Heard that one is for the Pros.
