55k and 60K service
Just contacted Lexus of Riverside to see how much they will cost.
for 55K = 99.95
for 60K = around 1000. I asked the guy whether they will replace the timing belt, he said "NO"...
why it's so expensive?
Should I replace the timing belt on the 98' ES300? Or I should go to Toyota dealer instead of Lexus?

The 60K service is that expensive because they're a Lexus dealer and they charge ridiculously high prices like most other luxury car dealers.
Some Toyota dealers will service Lexus cars, especially the ES since its mechanical workings are almost identical to the Camry.
Personally, I would not just go into the dealer and blindly pay for their 60K package. They charge a lot for worthless "checks and inspections". Not that checks and inspections themselves are worthless, but the Lexus dealer will do those for free during a routine oil change. If there's anything in particular you want checked out, just ask. After all, it's their hope that they'll find something broken and charge you big $$$ to fix it.
Look in your manual and see what's needed and not needed. Then request the services individually.
I also would not replace the timing belt at 60K.
