Cracking/ ticking noise sc300 help!
Okay so I've had my 93 SC300 garnet pearl for about 3 months now, it has 50,XXX miles, and since the first day I got it, it make a noise at cold start up, once I start it up, sounds like something is rattling, but it only happens for a second then it stops. Also, after taking it for a drive, once I turn it off it makes these crackling/ ticking noises. Anybody came across this problem? I want to get this fix ASAP, it doesn't seem to affect the driving and performance or I hope so.

I had the same problem in my previous car and the muffler was causing it. Where do you hear it? In the engine compartment? If so it could be plenty of things, probably something is loose.

I think it's just your exhaust metal expanding under heat, which would explain the crackling at shutdown...but not sure about the ones at startups

is this normal? should I get a new exhaust system? and the noise in the beginning only does that in cold start ups, if my car is warmed up and I was to crank it on, it wouldn't make the noise

Yes. I drove the LFA.

Depending on how you describe the rattling on start-up, it could be an exhaust manifold leak, or it could be valve spring buckets that are out of adjustment. It is difficult to diagnose over the internet without actually hearing the noise and where its coming from. Id suggest going down to a local dealer and having them listen after the car has sat overnight and see what they think.
As far as the ticking noise after turning the car off, everyone is probably correct, just the exhaust metal expanding and contracting. It is pretty common, and nothing to worry about.
