Default SC400 Heater control valve?

My heater control valve doesnt seem to be working for some reason.

If I swap the air lines on the control valve, the suction opens up the valve all the way and allows me to have heat.

What specific thing on this part actually fails??.....it all works off suction doesnt it??

My solenoid has gone out a few times, I've swapped it before, and finally found one that works. Check your local junkyards. I actually found a replacement that was the EXACT same as the SC400 one from a Q45. GL.

What part is the solenoid??

From what I see, these are the parts:
1.) The coolant valve that lets the water flow thru
2.) the round thing the pulls the little arm open or closed.
3.) the part where the electrical wires go into.

What are the real names for the 3 parts I mentioned??

The solenoid is the part ontop with the round small plastic piece. Thats the solenoid. The big metal thing is the valve. The valve on mine also locked up before, but I picked up an aftermarket one from a local parts store.

Thanks!

My valve opens and closes just fine if I reverse the hoses so I think that is fine. It must be the solenoid that failed!

Check the solenoid. If its dead, its an easy swap to fix it.
