Default Lease maintenance

Well, its almost time to turn my car in. Feb will be the 3yr mark. I just had my oil changed at toyota and they informed me that my front brakes are down to 1mm and my front tires are low on tread and a little uneven. Plus need an engine filter and cabin filter. I have about 5,000 miles and 4 months left.

I figure I will change the brakes, since Id hate to get charged or dinged if the brakes end up ruining the rotors. I figure the rest is really unnecessary. What do you guys think, would you replace any or all?

Are front brake pads easy to replace without taking them to a shop? Know of any website with good instructions? What bout type of pads? Any help would be great, thanks

DIY inspection of the brakes pad.

Maybe the dealer just want you to buy new tires and brakes, so when you return the vehicle, the dealer don't have to do anything else to sale the vehicle.

yah, maybe. les schwab says $200ish to change the pads and resurface rotors, plus rehouse the calipers (or something like that). Worth it?

You will get dinged for the brakes and tires if you dont take care of them. Some dealers dont inspect them well enough on return though, so you might slide by...

If you're a DIY guys, brake pads will cost you $60 for the fronts. You may not even have to resurface your rotors if you're going to return the car

You can go the cheesy way and use the brake TSIB (if you have not had this done), or just swap out the pads yourself. JavyLSU has a how to with pictures and all - just do a quick search in the IS second gen forum.
