Dead New Battery
#4
It might be a new battery, but what was the charge of it when they installed it? It would need to be 12v or higher. If it was a new battery months ago, and sat around not getting charged up, it would be less than 12v and would go down very quickly without a good charge again. Did you drive the car a bunch of miles after you got the new battery? If not, then perhaps the battery is not fully charged yet, and all the things that run in the car even when its shut off are bringing it down even more. If you have a DC voltmeter, you can go out and see what the charge is in it now. After driving a car for awhile, it should measure 13volts dc, sometimes 13v +..
Even a new battery can sometimes be defective and have a bad cell, which wont take a charge or hold it long, and this brings the overhealth of the battery down enough to cause what you are experiencing.. This can be tested by the dealer, or even an auto parts place, Sears, etc..
Good luck. DanF

Every new battery on the shelf has around 12.6-12.7 volts. When you run your car you should have about 14 volts holding steady. If it's any lower I highly doubt it's a defective battery and more likely an alternator output problem. If the alternator checks out then there is a parasitic drain in your electrical system that is draining the battery of its charge.
