2000 ES300: Cause of idle and acceleration surging?
I recently had an ignition coil die, so I took my 2000 ES 300 in to the shop. They said the bad coil also caused an oxygen sensor to die, and the coil caused one spark plug to need replacement. They also did a fuel system cleaning.
Since then I have noticed that my idle RPM goes up and down within about a 10% range. About one second up 10% and one second down 10% and repeat. Not a huge problem, but noticeable. The somewhat larger problem is that upon moderately hard acceleration, I feel the car surging as it accelerates. I can't think of a better term, but instead of smooth acceleration, I feel the car jerking a little. The "check engine" light is NOT on.
I didn't bring the car back to the shop yet, hoping that running a tank of gas through the system might make things run normally, but it didn't help.
I am thinking of going back to the shop soon, to see if they have any ideas what is causing the problem, but in the meantime, does anybody here have any ideas? Thanks.

Check your transmission fluid level and the fluid consistency, if low or bad, that can causing surging and hesitation and in addition check the groud wires on top of the transmission to see they are all in good order. CEL will not come on when this occurs.
