You don't want carb cleaner, but throttle body cleaner and it must state that it's safe for emissions sensors. Use either specific MAF cleaner or electronic component cleaner (not electric parts cleaner).

Do not use general Carb cleaner. The same companies make specific 'throttle body cleaners' that are less damaging to the sensitive components in and around a TB. Among other properties like dry time, and so forth.
It would be 'best' if you could find some specific MAF cleaner. It exists.. But TB cleaner should be ok.
Also, it isn't 'necessary' to clean the MAF. In fact I do not touch mine, I have looked at it, but it looks fine. I would only clean the MAF if I were experiencing problems. The MAF is just way too sensitive and moreso (expensive) to clean as a preventative maintenance imho. (but that is just me).
If you do clean it, which I assume you are. Less is more here. Gentle is better.. Be gentle, don't spray directly on any connectors/electrical components. Wipe very VERY gently. Most importantly. Let it dry for as long as you can before closing things back up. This is a point I can't stress enough. If you can let it dry out in the open air/sun for an hour, that would be fantastic.

i am planning on cleaning my Throttle Body this weekend, and picked up a can of Gumout's Carb+Choke Cleaner today. it was reccomended by the O'reily auto parts guy.
Will this work, or should i take it back and get a product with "throttle body" in the title??
