LS400 cooling fans not engaging...
I was getting my LS400 smogged the other day and noticed the cooling fans weren't running. I let the car idle for about 20 minutes with the AC on and the temperate gauge didn't budge, but the fans still didn't kick on. To my knowledge, they'd turn on even if the car was cold. I checked the fuse and that seems fine, so it's narrowed down to the relay and the sensor itself. Once I locate the relay, I'm going to jump the circuit and see if the fans kick on, and if so, it's most likely going to be sensor.
I posted in the LS400 forum, but I think asking if anybody knew where the relay and the sensor was located became too technical and too boring of a question for anyone to answer. I'm hoping to find some answers on this part of the forum! So anybody have a suggestion?
