1992 LS400 A/C system

What is the refrigirant used for this model and can I DIY charging the system? Thanks!

It came with R12 from the factory, so no, you can't charge it by yourself. Now, if it has been retrofitted then you *can* charge it yourself, but it would still be better to have a shop do it.
