Default Need help with electrical problems!!

I recently bought a used '98 ES 300. Two days ago I noticed that the clock didn't light up when I turned the car on. And then yesterday the device that adjusts the side mirrors didn't work. Is this an electrical problem? I have no idea what the extent of the problem could be and where to go to get it fixed (would like to avoid the dealer if at all possible).

Any light anyone could shed would be much appreciated!

Don't forget the body grounds in the engine bay.

Fuses for these systems (acc) are downstream from fuse AM-1. AM-1 and associated fuses are located in the fuse panel inside the car behind the little pop-out drawer adjacent to your left knee. AM-1 is the 30amp box fuse in the lower right corner of this fuse block. Check this to see if it's blown (through the window on top). It's a little hard to get to, so be careful you don't drop it. Costs about $5 at your local parts store. All the other sub-fuses are of the smaller spade variety from 10A - 25A. Refer to the fuse diagram on the back of the "drawer" you removed. Inspect each fuse associated with your failing systems. If you need a new fuse, first look in the spares position in the fuse box located inside the engine compartment (left side, just to the rear of the battery, adjacent to the left wall of the engine compartment). It's a cover about 12 inches long and about 2 or 3 inches wide). Refer to the cover diagram to locate the spare fuses. Replacement fuses are very inexpensive.
