Is changing the brake pads on the LS the same as in any other car? or is it harder??? do you need to do certain procedures like reset computers or something?

Really easy, check to see if you need your rotors turned also. Take a micrometer and measure your rotors in a couple places and make sure they are pretty even. Also look for heat spots. Most places will charge like 20 bucks to rotate a rotor, it would probably be worth the money if you are already doing the pads.

thanks for your responses guys!!! really appreciate it!
i dont think i have to turn the rotors... the car does not shake or shimmy when braking... pretty smooth. I'll have it checked though.
so how do i get the calipers back to the original position in order to let the new pads fit? thinking c-clamp... but do i have to release some brake fluid???

If your rotors are in good shape, just use a couple of large screwdrivers between the old pads and the rotor, to pry the pistons back into the calipers. You may have to remove some brake fluid to keep from having an overflow. Change the brake pads and reuse the brake shims from your old pads. If the rotor is moving around to much when you try to push the pistons back, just put a couple of lug nuts back on to hold the rotors in place. There is no need to remove the calipers to just replace the pads. You only need to remove the calipers and replace the bolts, if you are also turning the rotors. Also remember that the right hand side brakes have the brake sensors on them. The pads for the right side have a slot for the sensors. Be careful with the sensors they are easy to damage.
BTW....torque on caliper bolts is 91 ft/lb fronts and 90 ft/lb rear.
