Default Transmission mount for 99 RX300

I have a 99 RX300 with 59,500 miles on it. I recently have been experiencing a thumping noise and a jerking motion when shifting out of park to reverse. I checked my transmission fluid and it is a perfect cherry red. I have read other posts on this forum that say that I might have a bad transmission mount or engine mount. How much does a transmission mount cost? And should I get a drain and fill done on my transmission since it is approaching the 60K mark? Any help would be appreciated.

Are the T-Bone bushings seem worn atop the engine, right (passenger) side? Watch the engine as you rev it a little. The transmission mount can be observed just inside the left front wheel, on the subframe. Look for cracks or torn rubber. Have someone rev the engine while watching and feeling the mount. If it's bad, you see and feel it.
I use a rubber preservative (Vinylex) on both sides of both T-bone bushings, wiping off the excess. This is because rubber drys out excessively in the desert.

1. The symptoms you describe can mean bad mounts, but you must do a visual and stress test to confirm it is the mounts. The mounts are nothing but 2 rigid connections on each side of a material that has a give (like rubber or synthetic material). Visually you can see the break/tear or stress can be induced with strong leverage or as the above post mentions by actual engine power.

2. Look at the manual to see the service interval for trans fluid change. Call your local dealer for reccomendnded service interval and weigh in your driving conditions. For Austin, as an example, hills, heat and stop&go trafic, I follow 30k drain and fill with LEXUS/TOYOTA fluid.
