the worst you can do is clog up your injector if the fuel is dirty which might cost you since you cant open them up to clean them out and you would have to replace them, but then again your fuel and tank might be relatively clean and it wouldnt be a problem for one night either way its your choice you still have a sock thats connected to the fuel pump that filters the fuel right in the tank let us know what happens

I wouldn't do that if I were you. There's a reason why the vehicle is equipped with a fuel filter to begin with.

When engines had carburetors, you had a bit more play with or without good filters. But today's fuel injected and electronically metered engine demand clean fuel to function at all. The cost to repair what could be damaged is not worth it. If not a factory filter, rig in some type of fuel filter, even if temporary.

Trust me from my current 3.5 year experience in Mexico with my RX...don't do it. I had my last fuel filter replaced 3 years ago after only about a year in Mexico and it was pure yuck. It is due for replacement at the end of the year.

OEM is $30-35 depending on dealer. It's a fairly easy but dangerous job, a 14 and 17mm flare fitting connect the filter to the lines, and 2 10mm nuts hold it to the body.
