Help! which O2 sensors do I need to order
Hello,
Local Lexus dealer performed a CEL diagnostic and told me that my O2 sensor is bad.
"O2 SENSOR FROM BANK 1 SENSOR 2 MALFUNCTION". $645 + labor.
Well, to make long story short, I want to save money and decided to do this myself with a help from a friend. In search to order O2 sensors, I came across these descriptons and was wondering if someone can tell me which one I need to order?
Thank you!
Right, front or rear Req. 2
OR
Left, front or rear Req. 2
Screw-in type
==============================================================
Two required - OE Type After Catalyst -
Two required - OE Type Before Catalyst

Bank 1 means the bank which cylinder # 1,3, 5 and 7 are and on the GS4 is the one on the driver side.
Sensor 2 means the sensor after the catalyst convertor, which is the rear one. The connector of this sensor will go under the driver seat or somewhere inside the car, under the carpet. The sensor is the screw type.
Sensor 2 is the sub sensor and its job is to measure the performance of the cat and the main O2 and send the signal back to ECM.
The front sensor/main sensor will not work due to the designed and the length of the wire.

dud.. just get the UNIVERSAL Sensor.. they are around 50 - 60 bucks each.. then you can just cut the wire and connect it.. if you ever installed your own stereo in the car.. this would be easier....

VVTi- Thanks for very detailed explanation!
I have done a research on the universal sensor on this forum, I think I am going to stick with OE type. Thanks for the advice anyhow!.
