60 K miles service
anyone know what they mean when they say "torque the drive shaft". I am a backyard mechanic and is planning to do the 60 K mile service myself. Any pointers?

They mean putting a torque wrench with a 12mm socket and tightening each bolt at the U-Joints to 50 Ft Lbs. The bolts aren't loosened and retightened, only checked to insure tightness. Factory uses lock-tite on the bolts so they should be tight.
