lubricate steering shaft

Default lubricate steering shaft

Anyone had instruction on how to lubricate the 1st Gen GS steering shaft? My is making noise when I insert the key into ignition. thanks,

if i am not mistaken,if you can get the plastic cover of the steering wheel you will be able to see the telescopic mechanis when you can lubricate,myself i used silicone.

Are you talking about the plastic cover the steering shaft (about 1 foot long) under the dash? what kind of silicone did you used? I hear someone use WD-40 but I bet it will not last long before making noise again. Can I use white lithium grease?
