93 ES300 - 50mph to quick stop, engine dies like tranny is not disengaging.
problem #2
93 ES 300 140,000 miles automatic
When coming to a quick stop from 50+ mph, the engine will die once stopped.
It seems almost as though the engine fails to disconnect from the tranny when it is supposed to since speed is related to the rpms.
Do the same thing in neutral and it functions properly.
Idle seems correct.
Any ideas on this one?

On the 93ES there is the TSB for an update valve body for this conditions. The condition is " after the long drive on the hwy and you slow down as you're coming to the stop, the engine shut off by itself". The labor to do it is 4.5 hrs, plus parts and trans fluid.
