Can the idle speed be adjusted on a 2000 LX 470?
When the idle speed on my 2000 LX 470 drops to 600 RPM, there is a loud reverberation caused by the exhaust system vibrating. Giving the car enough gas to raise the RPMS to 650 RPMs or so will totally eliminate the booming noise. Can the idle speed be raised?
BTW, this apparently is a common enough problem that Lexus has issued a TSB for the problem, but my car is out of warranty (75,000 miles). The TSB calls for replacing motor mounts, adding a counterweight to the chassis, and replacing the center muffler dampening device. I assume all this would run at least $500 at my dealer.

Yes. I drove the LFA.

I beleive there is a idle set screw on the electronically controlled throttle body, but by adjusting it, i beleive the computer would attempt to compensate and lower the idle to factory specs. It is also not an easy task to adjust the screw itself... and i would think it may set a TPS code.
