Unhappy

My car has been leaning on the drivers side for a while now. First I thought it was my suspension and shocks (the car was on 130K with original shocks and springs) so I have changed them out over the weekend (wanted to drop it an inch anyways). The car look alright at first then the next day there is that lean again on the drivers side. Basicly the drivers side front and back sits lower then the passengers side front and back about a good inch! What can be wrong? It isn't the alignment because the car still drives straight and the tire wear is even. I'm at a total lost. Should I forget about and go on or is there a major problem?

Default 92 LS400 Leans

Hey,

Did you ever figure out what the problem is with your car leaning. My 92 is doing the same thing, I don't have air suspension either. It just sits 1" lower on the drivers side. Yesterday I took it to an alignment shop and they looked at it for about an hour and said that it must be springs. Last night I switched the struts and springs from side to side, both front and back. It made no difference, it still leans the same way. I have measured everything on both sides of the car and it seams to be consistent. Anybody have any ideas?

Yes, I did notice that the post was 4 years old. It was the only post that I could find that related to my problem without being about air suspension. I cannot figure out why this car leans, i've put it on jackstands on a level concrete floor. I've measured everthing with all of the sruts out of the vehicle and cannot find any difference between the right and left side. There has to be a significant weight difference on the car somewhere. Anyway for now I put spring clamps on the high side to compensate, and it sits level and drives great. I'm not comfortable with that as a permanent solution though. I'm open to any ideas that anybody has.

My 1993 LS400 does the same thing. Left side is lower. I asked a repair shop once and they said not to worry unless it was a lot worse.

Most all cars lean like that. Especially with lowering springs, it makes it more evident. Height adjustment and flexibility of coilovers allow you to fix that imbalance.

The left side on mine is different. Left front to right front is about 1/8", at the back, from L to R is about 3/8". It nags me now and then to fix it with an adjustable coil-over. That will work out to be about an $1,800 fix with Tein CS, EDFC and install.

Thanks Guys...I leveled it with spring clamps and had it aligned yesterday. Also put new tires on yesterday. Everything seems to be good.
