60k Service at Longo
I've searched the threads and haven't seen anything new on this. What's everyone been paying for 60k service at Longo? Lexus of Westminster wants $775.
Thanks in advance.

I can't say for sure for the GS, but the last two trips to Longo (60,000 and 65,000 miles) EACH resulted in bills for over $1000 on our '96 LS..
Needless to say, the car hasn't seen a dealership since and will continue not to. Except for the last $150 trip, which involved going to the parts counter, asking for a set of shocks, a pollen filter, and an engine air filter. Why is it that shocks for the LS400 run $35 each from Lexus (albeit in boxes labelled "Toyota Genuine Parts"), but ones for my Corolla run $110 each from Toyota? And yet, to get KYB GR-2s, either car is in the $75/ea neighbourhood...
<end rant>

Interesting...I've read good things about Longo on this board from other members which is why I'm asking.
I don't know if paying $775 for the 60k mile service at Westminster Lexus (or any Lexus dealer for that matter) is really worth it. I have about a year and a half or 40k miles left on my "Certified Pre-Owned" warranty and wonder if having someone other than a Lexus dealer to perform the service would jeopardize my chances of qualifying for warranty service and/or affect the resale value of my GS.
I read in this thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=90821) that GlobeCLK paid $250 for his 60k service at Longo. Just wondering if this is still the going rate and if this is the full Lexus recommended 60k service.

The only way it will void your warranty is if a part fails that has not been maintained according to the maintenance schedule using parts which meet Toyota/Lexus standards.
Oh, and sometime tomorrow, I will dig my service records out and get back to you on the exact dollar amount of the 60K service (I believe I had other things done at that time, so the full $1000 wasn't the 60K service).
