Default Our old beloved 20004 oil filter versus this new YZZD3 filter. Anyone know anything?

Anyone know any details about this new filter that Toyota has phased in? I know that the Denso 20004 was an extremely high quality filter with a great filter media, great bypass valve, and great build quality... as are most things produced by Denso.

Now Toyota is using a new filter ... "YZZD3". But after searching I have found very little information about it. I'm tempted to go back to using Mobil 1 for my filter needs until I get more info on this new filter. Is it a step up or a step down? It is a couple dollars less expensive which makes me wonder.

It's made in Thailand and time will tell until someone rips one apart to see.

mobil m1 filters are just as good, but it really doesnt matter if you change your oil every 3000 miles

i cut one open, it's a OK filter on the inside. It's like a Fram or Purolator in terns of construction, it's just pleated paper, with a nitrile bypass and poppet bypass.
