Cost of 60k service
I have a 98 ES 300 that has 62k in mileage. I scheduled the 60k service with the local dealership and they've quoted me a cost of $965. Is that about correct? I'm stunned. I've owned a lot of cars in my time, but that certainly is the most expensive I've ever seen.
In any case, trying to see if that's average, excessive? Thanks in advance.

Sounds about what I would expect. The 60k does include spark plug replacement and that's good for 60 in parts and $100 in labor right there.
Which dealer quoted you that price? There are things that you can do yourself to reduce the cost. (air filter, wiper blades, oil and filter, cabin filter, rotate tires, inspect brakes).
Find a Lexus Certified Toyota dealership and see what they will charge.
Where are you in MA? I can direct you to several.

My local toyota dealer just charged me $299.39 for a 60K service on my new (to me) 1999 ES300. Shop around. (Also look for dealer service coupons on the internet)

Which Toyota dealerships would you recommend in MA? I'm coming up on my 120K service and would like to get quality service for a reasonable price.
