Well, I'm giving my dealership another chance on the cargo door next week. They know I was disappointed about the 5000 mile service and not doing the cargo door, so this time I'm waiting for it to be done. As we all hope it is doable I'll post back next week and let you know

It HAS to be doable as all of my previous LX units would open the door by pushing the soft rubber button. Why they choose to toggle this off in the 2015 is not known but they should be able to reprogram it.

Mine goes in for its 5K after another 2k miles and after reading this I will check that they fixed my door before leaving the dealership. They have always been great to deal with.

Let us know how you made out and do not settle for excuses.

Yep. On all my past LX units you could push the open button above the license plate and you would hear a beep or two and the door would raise just as though you had pushed the button on the fob.

Are not all the older LX units the same or have I been lucky and only mine did this.

Our 2010 doesn't do it, and that's why I was eager to try the Carista app in the comfort of my garage. I haven't touched base with them yet to see if there are other available LX settings currently not offered in the iPhone app, and if so, whether this button setting is one of those missing options.

Your older LXs did it, and that is just about the only thing that gives me some hope on this.

My 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013 LX units all worked by pushing the button above the plate my 2015 is the only one that does not work.

Ok guys, I just made my service appointment for Thursday at 9:30 am to get the cargo door thing resolved and I am waiting at the dealership while they do it this time.

I'll let you know before I leave the dealership.

Just left the dealership-not good news. They said you can't program the vehicle to work like we ask want it to automatically open with button above license plate. Disappointed but will deal with it. Mine is a 2014 and they kept it about an hour

This is BS. My LX units used to do it and they have changed little to prevent them for getting it done. They are likely unable to do it for safety reasons. Someone likley got pinned against their garage door and LExus stopped it from then on.

Sorry. I am still going to raise hell with my dealer. I have purchassed 14 vehicles from them, but I know that will not matter.

that's so stupid. why would they take away that setting from the customization setup menu...

If you guys find out anything different please let me know. I really wanted this function and maybe my folks in Ga are incorrect.
Here's hoping someone finds out it can be done!
