Greetings and Thank you!
First post, but long time lurker....
I've been the proud owner of a 1998 4Runner Sport since 1997. I'm the original owner and she's still going strong, but it was time to upgrade. (I've kept the 4R for my son to use when he gets behind the wheel) I've been interested in purchasing a Land Cruiser for a decade, but enjoyed not having a car payment, and my T4R did everything I needed on a daily basis. I kept putting off the purchase. I was content consuming data by voraciously reading various forums, including this one, on both the LC, LX and GX .
I tend to venture off road on a moments notice as I am a nature/wildlife photographer on the side, so upgrading to a more modern and luxurious vehicle with good offroad capability was paramount. As I continued reading and looking I came to realize that the LX570 tended to be a better bargain used than the LC due to depreciation. (I'll live with AHC over KDSS, as I never planned on any after-market lift.)
I finally came across a killer out-of-town deal and made the purchase on a 2010 LX570 in Mercury Silver with the Mark Levinson and Luxury package upgrades. The vehicle had less than 130k miles and all service records. I'm now the owner.
A few bugs to work out with the vehicle (AC intermittently blew ambient air on the passenger side on the way home as reported by my son, and I discovered the dreaded recirculation damper failure after getting home. Sadly it is one thing I hadn't come across in the forums before, so didn't know to look for it. I investigated based on smelling outside aromas on the trip home despite being in recirc mode) Aside from those two issues, the interior is mint and the exterior is very, very good for a 2010.
Thanks to everyone for the mountain of posted information on these vehicles. I look forward to contributing in some way as I drive and work on my own LX570......

that looks sweet.
And it is old enough that you do not have to choose between leaving it totally stock for fear of screwing it up, or adding a new front bumper with winch, rock sliders, off road lights, etc.

Thank you everyone for the replies! Hoping my damper issue is simply a popped out arm and not a broken corner.
gbouton, the white LX looks really good. It is one of my favorite colors, and I was torn between silver and the white.
