Default Seat heater / ventilator flashing

Hi all,

The battery in my LX died, as a result my radio stopped working and my seat heater lights were flashing.

After replacing the battery radio is all good. Passenger side seat heater and ventilator no longer turns on (going to check the fuses tonight).

But the driver's side is very peculiar. At first it was working as expected then all of a sudden the light started flashing but the cooling / heating still works. Even with the system off those the lights flash and sometimes there is heat when the system is off.

This doesn't seem like a fuse issue in this case, seems like a relay. Anyone have a manual for the LX or similar circuit? I'm sure it's the same or similar for any Lexus vehicle with heated / cooled seats.

thanks

Update from my end.

All the fuses are OK.

Found some correlation. Driver seat goes from Hot to cool with no off. In the off position if flashes but does whatever the last setting was.

If I turn on my headlights it stops flashing.

But the light stays on solid even if the system is off.

After charging the battery and trying again. Driver's side seems to work as normal.

Passenger side does not light or work at all.

All of this must have stemmed from the dead battery. But sounds like the passenger side module is blown? No light even if I turn it on.

I would say you need to check the modules for error codes and go from there. You could go to a dealer, but there are better options: either get Techstream and an old 32-bit laptop, or use my Android app: Carista OBD2. It connects to the car via a Bluetooth dongle that cost about $10. Check out the link in my signature.

I should have updated this.

Passenger side seat control module was replaced for $660 + 2 hours labour. Driver's side seems to work again.
