Default 2010 vs 2011 LX

I have a friend who will be getting rid of his 2010 LX 570 in a few months and I'm pretty sure I'm going to purchase it. He bought it new and has done all service at Lexus. It has about 100k on it but I'm not scared of the miles because about 80% of the miles are highway miles and I know these things last forever. I plan on getting the LX for my wife to replace a GX 470. She doesn't drive much, so not worried about the gas mileage or anything.

I told him to take it to the dealership and see what they'd give him on trade (in GA). Anyone have a feeling for where that will come in? I'm likely going to give him $1k higher than that amount so he makes out well and I'll be getting a good deal as well. I've done research on KBB and looks like trade value might be around $35k. Does that sound right?

My question is are there any big differences between 2010 and 2011 years? I know there are some cosmetic differences (I prefer the 11 rear tail-lights), but anything else? I think I'll get such a great deal on this that there's no way I can pass it up but just doing my research before-hand to see if I'd rather try to find an '11 at a decent price. I plan on keeping this thing for a long time so I want to make sure I make the right decision on year.

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to CL!

Cosmetically, on the exterior, there is only one difference that I am aware of. For 2011, they removed the lettering that spells "LEXUS" on the left side of the tailgate. They did this across the whole lineup. That's where the changes end.

Inside, if you have the dark interior, it went from dark grey to black. If beige, the color is unchanged.

If the truck is equipped with the LL package (Luxury Package), 2011 added heating to the steering wheel.

Actually, I think you're right. My mistake. So if the cosmetic changes between '10 and '11 are so minimal (prior poster said the Lexus badge is on the bottom left of the back of the '10 vs not being there on the '11), this is a no-brainer. I see no other opportunity for me to buy one of these tanks at trade-in pricing.
