LX 570 oil filter access?
Doing my first oil change on my 2010 LX 570. Does the whole skid plate have to be removed to get to the oil filter? I can just see an AL housing with a sq (tool ?) at the bottom at the front of the engine. Filter/cooler combo maybe.
Thanks for the help

Late to answer. But, yes, the skid plate has to come off. Big pain.
Be careful not to break the oil filter cap - it is plastic. Poor design.
I suggest you look at Tundra internet sites for a good DIY on how to change the oil. It is the same engine.

I looked at my filter and there is no way I would go through that to change the oil.

Here is a pretty good step by step...............

The above link also talks about the total amount of oil based upon the blue dot (7.4 quarts) or green dot (7.9 quarts) on your oil dipstick. Even if you have the shop change your oil, make sure they under stand this - or they will potentially overfill your green dot motor.
