While the infinity has some bell and whistles the LX lacks, there is no comparison to the quality and ride of the LX.

I owned a Infinity M56s for about 6 months and while the features were nice and it was VERY high performance, I left the vehicle after is had multiple mechanical problems that the dealer seemed to not be able to correct. It had to be returned to the dealer 7 times in less than 6 months.

I agree that in the next version of the LX 570, Lexus needs to make upgrades to remain competitive with other seven passenger vehicles like the Infiniti QX and Mercedes GL. But here's a thought: maybe the idea is that the Lexus and Land Cruiser models are designed For true offloading, in which case things like blind spot monitoring and Lane departure are useless when you're making a left-hand turn in the desert.

Working on LX #2 after 4LC's. I have done a lot with these covering all the 4WD. routes in the San Juan's of CO. . The last outing over engineer pass with 5 of us and the back of the 07 LX filled with stuff was good for a laugh & affirmed for myself just how ignorant most folks are when it comes to the capabilities of these amazing machines. Approaching the top of the pass after a couple of miles of steep broken shale we encountered perhaps a dozen
" jeepers " headed downward decked out in various levels of macho bravado . Midway past the pack a grizzled veteran took the opportunity to inform anyone listening or caring " son you must have way more money than sense " ... whatever. each of these had 100k + on the miles when sold , always dealer maintained by the book. I have been rewarded with over 500 k miles of trouble free peace of mind driving and zero down days. The worst unscheduled event has been the need to replace a defective throttle position sensor on the '99 LC

Soooo... The fact I won't be going to the buffalo boy mine everyday I like knowing I can. With 14k mi on the '13 LX I'm taking extra good care of it for the sure to come day when Toyota throes in the towel to the nanny state. until then I'm enjoying every day knowing my wife is driving what I consider one of the safest & stylish vehicles out there. .... Just wondering why anyone would buy a land rover knowing its one of the worst vehicles out there in terms of build quality & reliability.

My neighbor's new Land Rover has done nothing but give him fits. I have had to drive him to or pick him up from the dealer many times! The scorned look of the sales people when I pull my "beast" onto their lot in front of their showroom! LOL
