Default Aiming/adjusting daytime running lights

Hey folks. My first post on this forum, and wasn't sure of the answers already out there and whether or not they would apply for my SUV. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a used 2009 LX 570. It has 54K miles...outstanding condition...and WOW! It replaced my '99 Land Cruiser, and what a difference!

Anyway, there are two glitches that were not caught on the pre-purchase inspection that I'm trying to solve. Not a big deal, but....

1.) The driver side daytime driving light is pointing down. If it was just a tiny bit down, you wouldn't notice it. But, this is pointed down far enough that the left side driving light looks really dim. It works fine...it's just pointed down. Is there an adjustment for this?

2.) The headlight washers do not work. The fuse is fine. I checked it and replaced it for good measure, but...it doesn't work. Is there any somewhat simple solution out there that anyone might suggest I try? With summer in front of us, this is not a big deal, but...I just like to have my vehicles working properly.

Glad to just take it to Lexus and take my lumps, but...wondering if there is any wisdom out there someone might be able to share.

Thanks in advance!

Rick

Just a last fyi on these two issues....

* The driving light issue was a broken mount that holds the daytime driving light in position. Unfortunately, it could not be fixed and the best solution to the problem was replacement of the headlamp unit. Retail at Lexus is $782 for the headlamp (100% mark-up of dealer cost for the same part). Dealer offered me a 15% discount off of $782. I shopped carefully and saved several hundred off the 15% "discount" from Lexus retail. Moral of the story...shop carefully for your parts.

* The headlight washer issue is a bad "headlight washer control relay." Again, shop carefully...I sourced the part for about half of the $204 quote from Lexus.

I'll try to contribute something more important to the message board in the future.

Cheers!

Rick
