The dealer told me that the demand for them overseas has dropped big time. Plus price of gas.

demand of the lx in the US is mainly driven by the demand overseas in middle east, russia, etc... a lot of these used lx here in the US are bought and exported out right the way. that's what drive/drove the high resale. the pure demand of domestic market is nothing out of norm.

Last month I bought a 2010 lease return with 30,000 miles for $55MM. That's only depreciation of 30% off the original sticker of $80M. In service date was 11/09, so close to 3 years old. That's pretty light depreciation. Don't some new vehicles lose 20 to 30% as they drive off the lot?

Interesting comments, can you share where you got your facts?

there are information i can't share. but one way to think about it, try to trace VINs of lx570 that has changed hands once or twice in the used market and see if they are still registered in the US

This is common knowledge, and I confirm it.

The 570 was not as well received in those countries, that's the reason of the tapering off demand. The 470 pricing remained strong, and it has become difficult to find any on the North American market.
