This my first experience with ventilated seats. I turn the **** to blue and don't feel anything. Should I feel air flow? Im hoping it's not super subtle. Since I just received my 570, I have nothing to judge it against.

I do not feel a great amount of air flow, though I DO feel the cooling effect. In AZ, I have mine set to coolest.

My wife's MB S-Class does produce enough air flow to feel, but even that pales compared to the BMW 7-Series that our driver in London has. His ventilated seats (at least the front passenger), produces a noticeable flow of very cold air, when the AC is on.

As this is my first Lexus with ventilated seats, I, like you, do not quite know what to expect.

2008-2011 pretty subtle. 2013 a little less subtle. It helps to have the air on recirculate and it will cool a little better.

Funny k-n-o-b was starred out from my original post. Lexus said they are very small fans. I don't understand the point. Are they effective?

They sure does make a lot of noises coming from the back of the seat though. I could feel the difference though and it is stronger than my 2005 LS430.

I was rereading my manual and the point they make is that the seats are ventilated. They don't say cooled. The 2013 air circulation is definitely better than the older models.

The little k-n-o-b has a red and a blue setting. Normally, red indicates heating and blue indicates cooling. I spoke with Lexus service and you are right, the fans just recirculate cabin air. The k-n-o-b is very misleading, especially coming from Lexus. Why color it blue if it doesn't cool? What were they trying to indicate with the blue?

Lexus service said a quick way they check to see if they are working, because they have questions from owners, is they put the plastic seat protection covers on and turn the ventilation on and then they can see the plastic billow from the little fans. Is that rediculous our what? Lexus service has to trap the air with plastic to even tell if they are on?

Per this discussion, I paid notice today. The outside temp was 115F, so I needed all of the ventilation possible. Cannot tell you what the air temp, from the seats was, but with a slightly damp shirt, it was cool. It was at least as cool as my wife's S-Class MB's seats, but far from our driver's BMW 7-Series seats in London, which actually got COLD, even the June, where temps were 105F in Mayfair, and over 70 people died!

As for feeling the air, I can do that, and it feels good in AZ, though not as cold as that BMW.

There is only a fan(s) that moves ambient air through the perforations in your seat. It is not powered cooling. My Ford Platinum F150 will chill your hiney down in less than a minute but the Lexus way is more passive.

I never use the cool function but do use the heater in the winter.
