2008 vs. 2009 LX570

PCS is indeed the Pre-Collision system. It's radar cruise control, with the added feature that pre-loads the brakes when the vehicle senses a panic situation.

Our '08 was a late build and was equipped with all the updates from '09 so I have the privacy glass and remote start. My brother bought an '09 and there's nothing on his that mine doesn't have. We have 75k miles and the car has been trouble free and drives as good as the day we bought it. However, I make it a point to always be on top of the service.

I'm in the market for am 09 or '10 LX570 and I didn't like the Black 44k one in Tx, the mild accident bothered me too, it drove well but didn't look as clean as I'd expect for a CPO. For example, it had a white stripe on just one side, and wasn't well detailed on the inside. The salesman was also trying too hard to explain away some of the concerns I had (carpet stains, mild accident, one stripe, was it repainted???). The much darker aftermarket tint was also already wearing off. Basically, overall, I expected it to look new and in excellent condition and it didn't.

Thanks, jce2508, for closing the book on that particular CPO vehicle. Shortly after I began this thread I made a deal on that '09 CPO in TX (listed for $55,988, deal for $54,700). I went as far as to arrange for transport from TX to MD after planning to purchase sight unseen. However, after reading the subsequent posts in the thread --- major thanks to all! --- in particular, the comment by 'rominl' : "...I will never touch a car that had been in accident in the past". --- I pulled out of the deal.
I breathed a sigh of relief after reading the last post as it would have felt like a kick in the gut, had a transport truck dropped off a vehicle such as you described. I would never have seen the carpet stains, lack of stripe, or aftermarket tint wear --- but the dealer's attempt to minimize the accident/repainting issue was concerning. I've purchased CPO before, and it was also my impression that CPO vehicles were presented as new as possible. Apparently not the case here.
FWIW there is a 2011 CPO for sale locally (Lexus of Rockville, MD) that is listed for $59,994 with 34K miles, in addition to two '09's. I'd be happy to take a peek and perhaps take a test drive and tell you what I see, if you'd like.

Looking at a 2008 LX570
Hello all. I was looking for a 2011, but my dealer called me with a pristine 2008 (startling so - I saw it with the owners things still in it and without a detail), it's in perfect condition) with only 15k miles (just had 15k service). Now I'm debating whether to pull the trigger on the 2008 as it's in better shape than any 2011 I've seen. They haven't priced it yet, but he thinks it will be in the high 50s.
I'm in a quandary, as the 2011s I'm seeing at in the low 60s, but with 40-80k miles.
Any advice would be appreciated!
