Unacceptable Brake Performance of the Toyota Land Cruiser Lexus LX 570
#4
I'm not an LX apologist. It's got it's pros and cons but I don't view the brakes as a con. Edmunds.com tested the LX's 60-0 braking in just 119 feet. For a 6,000 pound vehicle that's excellent. I've got 17,000 miles on mine and I've been pleased with the braking.

1) in tailand i think you do a lot more braking per mile (statistically) compared to the US, so not directly comparison i think
2) 22s definitely would make difference. your setup is quite a bit heavier than factory (i had 22s on my ls460l before, i know), so naturally you require more braking force to stop the car, aka the pads
but regardless, your other comparison is very valid. compare the lx/gx with cars like gl, the brakes are on the weaker side. i know quite a few owners with gx470 and most of them complain about the brakes. doesn't brake hard enough, and the pads go out like that so quickly. all those point to a weak brake setup.
i have driven quite a few lx570 while doing installation for my clients. i always have to be cautious on the brakes and leave more room for braking, compared to other cars i tough

I have a 2008 4Runner and 2011 LC. The brakes on the 4Runner are much better than the LC and I feel they are adequately sized. Compared to all the vehicles I have driven, the brakes on the LC are the worst, and are undersized to my liking.

The LX breaks were always undersized for the application imo. Have no clue why Toyota does this. However it never really bothered me, and the typical cycle I see from the breaks is around 20k, not less often more. So 3,600 sounds really bad.

it's not listed under stoptech. stoptech developed a kit for the FJ cruiser and it's sold under the trd name as a trd kit. and the FJ shares the pattern as tundra, which i am pretty sure is the same as LC / LX as well
although if i had the choice i would go brembo too
