Ride quality between LX470 and LX570
I have a one month old 2008 LX570, bought after owning 2 early model LX470s - a 1999 and 2002 for several years each.
My 570 rides on 18" wheels with almost new Cooper Zeon tires, which I found on several forums to be nice tires. So I'd expect a far better ride than the standard 20" which I've experienced in another 570 test drive as being quite choppy.
But the ride on mine is quite hard, and often unpleasant on a trip for the 2nd row passengers.
I have it on the comfort setting and factory air pressures, but the wheels appear to hit bumps with a hard thump - small or big depending on the road surface.
It seems to be common knowledge that the 570 ride is not as good as the 470s, but this is a marked difference. I would have expected some improvement based on the more sophisticated stuff they put into the 570 ride and handling, but it's not.
Anyone found a solution? Any answers like a sensor replacement or sphere regassing improved it?

Well, got the ride checked and there's no problems with it, so I guess I'll have to accept it as slightly inferior to the LX470. This is no different to some opinions I've heard about the ride, but I hoped my experience would be smoother with less thump on the bumps.

But some days it can run smooth, and other days I feel every bump. Had it tested but the tech couldn't find anything wrong with the suspension mechanicals.
It doesn't worry me unduly, but my 2nd row passengers get a bumpy ride. The seats aren't as plush in the second row either, so it's a double whammy for them.

The pressure is right for the OEM 19" wheels I have, and the Coopers shouldn't make that much of a difference, though they are a chunkier tire.

With weight in the back the suspension does not have too much travel, maybe that is an issue too.

My error, they are 18".
Since I've heard a few comments about the difference between the 470 and 570 ride, I guess I'll just have to accept it. But it's not as comfortable as the 470... so much for progress!

Tires?
This doesn't match my experience at all. I drove a 470 for ten years, loved it, obviously. My 2008 570 with 20" Dunlops had a better ride than my 470. When I changed to 20" Michelins, the ride improved, smoother and quieter than the Dunlops. I know nothing about Cooper tires but my suggestion would be to switch to Michelins. You are right about the second row seats, fortunately, I never ride back there.
