I said good-bye to my LX 570 last week. Here are things I did not like about it (there were plently things did like of course).

1. Vibration as others have stated in the 1600rpm range. Noticed this day one and it never went away. Was not present in my LX470. Dealer said it was normal. It was irritating more than anything.

2. The ride on the LX 470 was more forgiving and smoother. It absorbed every bump in the road--it was literally like driving a luxury sedan. The LX570 is more of a sportier drive and much less forgiving than the 470. I missed the 4 suspension settings on the 470, rather than only the 3 offered on the 570. Some of this im sure is due to the tires having a lower profile and less rubber to absorb the road.

3. Having to interface with the Nav screen to do simple things...like change blower speed of climate system. That got to be a real pain. Not convenient.

4. The AC seats were a joke. I only have the cadillac escalade to compare to...and on the vehicle, you could actually feel the ac coming from the seats! On the LX570, its not very useful at all. My dealer told me they hear the same thing all the time.

5. What is up with that break pedal...is it just me or what? sometimes it feels like it wont break until you press it hard.

6. 3rd row seats can not fold flat--really limits cargo width.

7. Navigation cutting out at speed...OMG i hate this most of all. I know its not only a Lexus thing...but they do take the limitations to the extreme!

Dont get me wrong...there are millions of things i liked about it, but i figure it would be more help to others to note some things i disliked. Some of the best qualities would have to be the improved acceleration--bar none--this is the best aspect of the 570 over the 470. I will miss the Lexus service i am sure...but wont miss the monthly payment anymore .

I have to agree on the big-brother navigation cut off thing (LX is my 3rd Lexus, and it does get old!). I actually have not noticed the vibration thus far and I am the retentive type that notices everything, so hopefully it's gone.

If I remember correctly, you were one of the first people on here to get a 2008 LX, right? There was you and also a gentleman from FL. At the time, I believe you both posted pictures, and I remember drooling over them LOL! Little did I know I'd be driving one 2+ years later.

What did you trade for? Best of luck to you!

pemarsh, I bought my LX about the same time you did. I remember we both posted complaints about the annoying engine vibration. I too never got over it. It still bugs me to bits. I share with you all the other complaints as well.

I'm also really curious what you traded it for. Do tell.

I wanted something that can off road yet give some luxury also, and have some fun driving. Wanted something different than lexus, and was looking to save some $$. I drove every SUV under $60 out there...i fell in love with the land rover LR4. Few years ago i drove the LR3 and didnt care for it too much. The LR4 has tons of improvements. Reliability is what im most scared about, but hey--there is a warranty!!

With regards to the LR4 reliability issues: aren't you afraid the LR4 will break down while you're in the middle of nowhere, off-roading, all by yourself, at night, hungry, on a holiday, without cell phone coverage? You know, like Murphy law dictates...

I looked at the LR4 before buying the LX. I decided against it when I asked him, "So how reliable is this car?" and he responded with, "We provide a rental car free of charge when you bring the LR4 into the shop."

There really is no perfect car out there... no matter how much you spend. I have had a few luxury vehicles and all I can say is that there will always be something that you will dislike. Sorry to hear you traded your LX, I hope you don't regret it.
