I have to give up for the excellent photographs with the Backdrop of the Desert and the semi parked LCs, You know what it looks like the leader is out there front of everybody, and the others are stand in line behind giving it respect LOL

Excellent Advertisement for the LX.

To clarify this:

In normal situations, the Lx570 will transfer a variable amount of power to the front and rear axles. Pressing the diff lock button will be locking the center diff resulting in a 50/50 distribution of power on all times.

You can say that this button basically converts the lx570 to a real 4wheel drive! :P

Another thing this button will do is turning off VSC. which is responsible for many things including cutting off the power of the engine when it notices the wheels slipping. VSC should be turned off in any off-road situation.

So to keep it simple, this button should always be engaged whenever the car goes off road and especially when going on sand, snow and mud surfaces.

one last note, this button does not turn off the Traction Control. which can be turned off using a separate button. I don't think that you should turn that off because doing that will also turn off ATRAC. ATRAC is a replacement of having front and rear diffs. Turn that off and you are back to two wheel driving; One in the front and one in the back. Anyway, even if you turned it off it will turn itself back on in few minutes...
