2010 low fuel warning
I've had the 2010 LX for 1 week now and the fuel disp said I only had 16 mi to empty...the low fuel warning never came on and when I re-fueled, it only took 18 gal...I thought the max was 24.5 gal...anyone have a problem with this?

Two days ago had the fuel light come on and only 1 mile to empty. Luckily I was only about 5 miles to next gas station and made it. The arrow was not even to E yet. I took 20 gal. not sure what the max is is. Normally, I just try to fill up at half tank.

I have an 08' Landcruiser 200 and have been scratching my head about the same thing. I drive until the computer is telling me that I have low fuel or no miles remaining. At fill up I get 21 gallons in on a 24.6 gallon tank. My 4 runner and old GX have 23.5 tanks and at same point in range I fill 21.5 gallons. Either the pickup is at a bad point on the tank or Toyota/Lexus has gotten more conservative. Not really wanting to test how many miles past zero I can go to find out.

08' Land-cruiser used to have the same problem
The thing that float on the fuel tank to measure the fuel level. Get stuck.
So I would recommend asking your dealer to change it on your LX570. its free on the warranty
Basically land-cruiser and Lexus could share the same problem.

It all depends on driving manners...as I noticed from my practice, all japan made cars that show "km to empty distance" never make numbers bigger in same tank even if you start driving very economical..though german car like to increase that number on eco drive...
japan cars increase "distance to empty" number only afer tank refuel if it was driven more economicaly then before..
also, computer likes to lid up "low fuel" much earlier, if you drive it uneconomical...

Yes Toyota is conservative. My Toyota Truck fuel light comes on with about 3-4 gallons left. The consensus (unofficial) reasoning behind this is that when Toyota trucks/SUVs are loaded up with payload or trailers in tow, the 3-4 gallons left in the tank will got VERY fast. Thus the reason for a very early empty fuel warning
