NE1 in S. CA with an LX570? What's your MPG been like?
Our 2006 LX470 is about 8 months from coming off lease. My wife and I are actually considering buying off lease but we're also kicking around the idea of buying a new LX570.
I'm well aware of the fact that the math doesn't work to buy a new LX for better fuel mileage vs. keeping our old LX but there are several new improvements in the 570 that have us thinking (more power, improved interior, 4 zone climate, etc.).
I have to admit that it is odd but I'm also thinking a bit about lessening the impact we leave on the environment. We're avg'ing about 14.5 mpg in mixed driving in our 470.
Given the higher freeway speeds of S. CA and increased gridlock of side streets, I'm wondering if anyone here has a 570 in S. CA and would be willing to share their experience. As silly as it is, I'd sure feel better about eeking an extra MPG or two out of the next car.
Thanks in advance.

I get 12.5 around Jacksonville. Used to do better until they started putting more alcohol in our fuel. I do get 15-16 on the highway.
No in S. Ca but thought we could compare.

I've had some limited experience with the LX570. While I do not own one I was using one for a while last year. In my 6000 miles with the LX570 I would usually get about 13.4 mpg combined. I did a mix of city/hwy and rural roads. Lots of stopping the LX and restarting. I also carried around with me about 600 lbs of equipment.
Where the MPG suffered the most is when it was loaded with weight. While this weight didn't seem to phase the 5.7, you could tell the MPG dipped.
Good luck. I would keep the LX470 over the LX570. Nicer SUV and more refined.
