Default Beach driving

We recently went to Pismo Beach and got to take the 570 out on the sand. We could have taken it in the dunes but I'm not that brave...so we rented a dune buggy, not as smooth as the 570 but still a ton of fun!!

It really would have done well on the dunes if you do get over zealous. The wide tires and 4wd worked good for me in the loose sand.

there were lots of stock Ford Expeditions out in the dunes. I had three mini SUV's trying to chase me in the buggy around bowls and drops but kept getting stuck.
I didnt want to air down as it was Sunday and a huge line for air, plus thinking "it's not nitrogen" and didnt know if it made a difference anyway...

Also, rolling my wifes 570 with all our luggage from our trip would definitely put me in the doghouse !
I went into the soft sand off the wet part of the beach and it handled great. I tried to get stuck near the parking for the buggies and couldnt (although an H2 got stuck right next to me.)

I caught the fever and now looking for a sand car. The 570 is definitely a great tow vehicle !!

Pagemaster, with your vast off-roading knowledge, you should already know that a stock LX570 is not ideal for off-roading. (A modded LX is another story however.) So, i was asking him if he meant a cheaper (more disposable) SUV/truck such as FJ CRuiser, Jeep Wrangler, etc.. Quite frankly, i thought that i was pretty obvious in what i wrote...the original poster understood it...once again, you seemingly are just too ignorant to understand other people.

Let me guess...you're still giving advice around here??

Although the 570 is not the perfect sand vehicle, it did well and I couldnt get it stuck in the areas I went. (I actually tried since people can always tow you out.
There were plenty of stock Expeditions out in the dunes running around just fine. I just think a 650-800 HP sand car may be better suited for the dunes than a 570.

Also, my wife is getting back from a trip just now and called to tell me a piece of lumber flew off a truck and DEMOLISHED her windshield. I'll post some pics !
