Default 1st long trip.

We just finished our first long trip in the 570 (to Disneyland) that took about 5 hours. We did some 2-3 hour trips to the mountains but this was long highway miles.
AWESOME !!
Just set the suspension on "comfort" and cruised. Traffic on HWY5 usually gets going pretty fast so went up a little over 100 MPH and the car stayed at about 2250-2300 RPM at 100MPH. Overall fuel was about 17MPG.
Very solid, very confortible.
There's a mountain pass we need to go over "the grapevine" / Tejon Pass and the car went from virtual 0 - 4100 FT elevation in a very short period without any effort.

The car continues to impress me.

The extra horsepower still amazes me after driving three LX470s.

Glad you are likeing yours!

Thanks for sharing that experience. My wife and I took our first long trip in my 570 a couple weeks ago, 1800 miles in 4 days. She says the seats in my 570 are more comfortable than in her 430. We drove back roads, not inter-states and got 16 mpg overall, one tank 18.5 in KS. However, if you put your foot down, that 5.7 really eats gas. I had to pass three 18 wheelers at once and leveled off at 95 mph, solid as a rock. An entirely different driving experience from my 470. For these two lane roads, we slightly preferred the "normal" setting, "comfort" seemed a bit too loose. I used "sport" for a time in the Hill Country, very helpful in the curves. I am loving this SUV, I have loaded many CD's on the HDD and only up to 20% full. Pavarotti sounds like he is in the back seat!

I'm really suprised how the suspension settings really do change the ride.

I loved my LX470 but had to sometimes use just a little imagination to feel the difference in changing the ride settings. The LX570 settings are instant and really make a difference. I use the comfort and normal setting the most. The sport setting is really tight but usefull for the more agressive driving.

Will be taking the LX from Florida to Wisconsin in September and really looking forward to the trip!

Like Pavarotti, too!

100 mph at 2300 rpm? That's some crazy gearing!
