Oil Pressure Gauge
It seems to me that my oil pressure gauge reads a bit low, well to the left of vertical. The oil level is full. There are no numbers on it so who knows. I will get the dealer to check it but I was wondering what other owners are seeing on their oil pressure gauge. Thanks.

Mine is also below the half way of vertical, a good bit lower so I do not think there is a problem. The LX570 engine does so low RPMs unless you push it and the needle seldom goes past half way unless you get the RPM up and the engine is cold.
Nothing to worry about.

at idle my gauge shows just left of the 2nd large bar (or line on the gauge)
it takes 3500-3700 RPM to get it to halfway.
This is in the garage and not on the road. About 1 minute of warmup at idle before reving to 3500..

LX 570 Oil Pressure
Just took my new LX570 in for a 30 day check. Asked the service rep what was the "normal" oil presure reading? He checked and indicated that normal was 10 psi and cold about 35psi. I said that was fine but tell me how I am suppose to get that reading on a gauge that has no numerical reference points. As an old Naval Aviator with many hours in a kerosene burner, I was always checking the gauges. So, it would be nice if Lexus would tell us what the psi is at the reference marks of 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4. The same applies to the engine temperature gauge, it's either C or H

Folks, please educate me why we need an oil gauge there? Mine 99% of the time shows about 1/4 pressure. Like the OP said, high oil pressure is bad and low is good.... if say the oil pump is bad, then oil pressure should be 'very low' if not 'zero'? that's bad too right? Still not sure why they need to put an oil pressure gauge there...

Did you mean broke an oil line?
If a fuel line breaks, the engine will shut down due to lack of fuel. It also includes the possibilities of spilling fuel and fire.

Lexus specs say
Idle speed .................... 70 kPa (0.7 kgf/cm2, 10.1 psi) or higher
2500 rpm .................... 220 kPa (2.2 kgf/cm2, 32 psi) or higher
So low pressure at idle is expected

face it, it is not a very accurate or sensitive oil gauge!
if all the oil fell out, i bet most of us would not even noticing it drooping the little bit it would
